Registration for Cambridge SkateFest 2016 is now open!  Event T-shirts are optional this year, so if you’d like to order one, please register by Friday, September 2nd, 2016. (T-shirt availability & sizing on the day of the event isn’t guaranteed.)

Cambridge SkateFest 2016 will be on Sunday, September 18th, 2016! (Rain date: Sept. 25th)

For 2016, both Slalom and Freeride contests will be right on Memorial Drive so it should be a great chance for more people to see a mix of freestyle skating! (We’ll setup a “street” course for the Slalom Battle.)

We had a blast during our Freeride contest this past Sunday. Congratulations to Eric Torres, who placed 1st, among a tight field of phenomenal skaters! (More results and photos on our gallery page.  We’ll post a highlights video of both Freeride and Slalom contests in a few weeks.)

Thuro, our sponsor, made a short clip to remind everyone to come out for the Freeride contest tomorrow! (Sunday, Oct 11th.) The weather will be awesome, and we have some fun box configuration planned for the final round so it will be a blast! Come out to compete or watch, then afterwards, stroll over to Harvard Sq. to enjoy the Oktoberfest-ivities…

We’ve rescheduled the Freeride contest that was cancelled due to weather.  We’ve made some changes so here are the details:

• Date: Sunday, October 11th, 2015.
• Time: 11:00 AM — Registration & warmup. 11:30 AM — Contest starts!
• Location: Memorial Drive, adjacent to JFK Park. (If driving, please leave extra time for street closures/traffic delays due to Harvard Square Oktoberfest and HONK! Festival)
• Registration price (to compete): $10
• Register at the event, or pre-register prior to the event at Thuro skate shop to get a 20% discount off all helmets and protective gear.
• We’ll just have a single, open division for competitors 18+ in age.
• Prizes: 1st place — $100 Thuro gift certificate. 2nd to 4th place get to choose one of three prizes from Rollerblade — Hydrogen wheels, Quantum skate backpack, SG9 bearings.
• Medals for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd places.
• Helmets strongly encouraged. (We’ll have some spare helmets for use during the contest for anyone who doesn’t have one.)
• Slides at the end of a run will be optional.
• Rain will cancel the contest for this year.
• Everyone’s welcome to come and watch!
• We’ll post any additional updates on this site and our FaceBook and Twitter pages.
